This month Mike and I celebrated our 8th Anniversary! We've accomplished a lot in those 8 years! We started in an apartment in Orem, moved to Indiana and bought our first house, where we brought home our first little baby home from the hospital, graduated Dental school and moved back to Utah, where we brought home our second little girl home to my parents house, and then finally built our home here in Vineyard. So much more has happened than that, but it's been a wonderful 8 years together, and I'm looking forward to so many more years together, and so many more memories to make!
Our little girls are still keeping us busy these days. It's so fun to watch them play together each day, and to explore and have fun together. They are best buds, and it's great to have a buddy to play with all the time. Here are some of their shenanigans from this month:
The girls were so excited to have Mel and the Henderson's drive through town one night, and we all went out to dinner together. The girls had a blast running around together, and playing games they made up. They are so cute together!
Here are some fun stories about Kallie from this month:
- Bit Jenna's arm and gave her a nice bruise, could see the teeth marks for a couple of days
- Some days does great going potty, and about 50/50 staying dry at night
- "Dad! Jenna fall down the stairs, I not push her!"
- Loves to sing ABC's and Itsy Bitsy Spider
- Had fun playing outside in the rain at Pappy and DeeDee's house (then got to make cookies with Pappy after!)
- Loves to help mom and dad water the plants
- Got to see and hold baby Ivie at the hospital, told me "she's so cute!"
- Constantly entertaining (and possibly slightly embarrassing) us with her outfit choices
- has been trying to keep me on track with my exercise:
K: "mommy, what are you doing?"
Me: "I'm going to take a shower"
K: "no! You need to do your exercise!"
Jenna is growing like crazy, and is starting to move more (without that darn cast keeping her down):
- We have a crawler now (not just an army crawler)
- Got her first tooth on Aug 8!
- Willingly took a few steps on her own while mom was holding her hands
- Started putting a blanket over her own head to play peek a boo
- Climbed all the way upstairs by herself on the 16th
- Has become quite the mess maker
- Started eating the green onions that mom put in the shopping cart, while mom wasn't looking
- Got under the table and started eating the food that had fallen on the ground
- Loves the water (doesn't care if it's the pool or the bath)
- Does NOT sit still anymore
- Started clapping by herself (Aug 22)
We got to go to Park City with my family for a few days. We had a fun time together (thanks Pappy and DeeDee!) One of the most memorable moments was when we went down the Nordic Ski Jump landing pad on a tube (extreme tubing) at the Olympic Park. We took a video of me going down it, and I screamed the whole way down (since I'm deathly afriad of heights--I'm shocked that I actually did it!) Kallie watched the video and asked "Mom, are you scared?" And I told her that it was scary, so she told me "no, it's not scary, it's just fun!"
Another big hit from our trip was being able to ride the ski lifts! It was free, so we went up and down it a bunch of times! We also had fun mini golfing, taking short walks together, going out to yummy restaurants, and playing games together! It's always fun to spend some time with the family!
We went with the whole family to the BYU Blue vs. White (practice) game. The kids basically spent the whole time running around the stadium (up and down the stairs/bleachers, and running around under the stands, getting drinks of water, etc.), then we got to have a yummy lunch together before heading back up to Park City to finish our little getaway trip together:
Mike celebrated his 31st birthday this year. We celebrated by going out for sushi with the Gibb's. We had some dinner, and then wandered around Provo Center street for a while, and found this cool painted wall to take a picture to remember this night!
